It’s time to get creative and share your story in our exciting South Bay Student Film Contest!
This year’s theme is all about courage—and we want to see how you bring it to life.
Whether it’s stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new, standing up for what you believe in, speaking up for someone who doesn’t have a voice, or the courage to truly be your authentic self, the possibilities are endless! Let your imagination run wild and show us how you define courage in your world.
Here’s how it works:
Film length: approx. 3-8 minutes (8 minutes maximum. Films exceeding the maximum runtime may have points deducted).
Location: Shoot your film right here in the South Bay, with visible local landmarks or familiar gathering spots.

Cash prizes: The top prize is $500!
Film Festival Premiere: The winning films will be shown at the Hermosa Beach Community Theater during the Rotary Club of Redondo Beach’s South Bay Film Festival on March 28, 2026.
Celebrate with Friends & Family: Everyone is invited to attend and cheer on the winners.
Recognition: All winners will be announced at the festival and awarded their prizes!
Online Exposure: Winning films will also be available online for everyone to enjoy.
